About the project

Dear reader,

This new INTERNET portal is the platform of the project “Marine Protected Areas in the Eastern Baltic Sea” funded by the EU LIFE Nature programme and various donors and project partners.
The project aims mainly at supporting the designation of marine protected areas according to Natura 2000 criteria in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. For this purpose we will investigate the proposed sites and research their biological diversity. Later management plans and maps shall be elaborated and recommendations for protections rules made.

The INTERNET portal shall provide you with information about the project, the marine territories and their biological values. At later stage it will also contain interactive tools for different stakeholders.
